SafeContractor, the UK’s leading health and safety certification, verifies an organisation’s health and safety compliance and connects contractors to leading organisations through an online portal. This showcases their profile to hundreds of companies that only work with our 37,000 SafeContractor members, saves time and money when bidding on new tenders and gives them the peace of mind that their health and safety practices are compliant with the law.
Gemma Archibald, Managing Director of Alcumus SafeContractor, says: “No-one goes to work to get injured. Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.
“SafeContractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the approval process. During the current economic impact of COVID-19 it’s more important than ever that contractors enhance their reputation and win work by continuing to demonstrate their commitment to delivering the highest standards of health and safety compliance.”
Following the Coronavirus pandemic and its economic disruption, Sussex Transport adopted new COVID-19 secure working practices to ensure they operate usual services wherever possible. From implementing social distancing wherever possible, deep cleaning regimes and hand sanitiser stations, Sussex Transport have taken significant steps to prioritise the safety of staff, industry and local community by introducing new working practices to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.
Sian Panton, General Manager said: “We would like to reassure all our customers that we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure minimal disruption to our services during the current Coronavirus pandemic. Whilst we are aware that disruption is likely across our industry, we are working to ensure we have the necessary plans and procedures in place to ensure our operations can continue to run smoothly in the event of reduced staff levels.
Having a mixture of remote working and multi-skilled team members means that we can safely cover numerous roles within the business. We are continually ensuring that all our drivers are sufficiently aware and have the necessary equipment to maintain a high standard of hygiene to maximise the safety of all. We will continually monitor any changes to advice and update them accordingly.”
