“The service is second to none, a real breath of fresh air! Would recommend SafeContractor to any company.”
Radcliffe Construction are a family owned business specialising in commercial and industrial building construction. First established in Huddersfield, they have proudly been servicing the Yorkshire area for over 100 years.
“Our approach at Radcliffe Construction is to foster long-term relationships with our clients by providing them with a construction team that have ample experience and the skills required to make any project we work on a success for everyone involved. Our projects range from small works to large contracts, predominantly within the public sector, including commercial, industrial, retail, public buildings and residential. One thing that all of our projects have in common is that quality and safety are our top priorities when on site.” commented Paul Radcliffe at Radcliffe Construction.
“We are able to demonstrate a uniform standard of health and safety compliance across our business through meeting the rigorous health and safety checks required to achieve SafeContractor certification. Our seventeen years of SafeContractor membership demonstrate our ongoing commitment to maintaining excellence in health and safety in the workplace and ensures that all of our team and customers know how seriously we take safety in our business. Being an approved SafeContractor member enhances our ability to win new contracts with clients who want to work with compliant contractors.”
SafeContractor, the UK’s leading health and safety certification, verifies an organisation’s health and safety compliance and connects contractors to leading organisations through an online portal. This showcases their profile to hundreds of companies that only work with SafeContractor members, saves time and money when bidding on new tenders and gives them the peace of mind that their health and safety practices are complaint with the law.
Gemma Archibald, Managing Director of Alcumus SafeContractor, said: “No-one goes to work to get injured. Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.”
“SafeContractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the SafeContractor approval process. During the current economic impact of COVID-19 its more important than ever that contractors enhance their reputation and win work by continuing to demonstrate their commitment to delivering the highest standards of health and safety compliance.”
Commenting on the current climate surrounding COVID-19, Paul said “On the 23rd March, when the Prime Minister made the initial announcement regarding the lock-down we had 5 ‘live’ sites, all of which were commercial. After consultation with each of the clients, we collectively decided we could not maintain the required safety procedures so by Tuesday afternoon, all of them were closed and all site managers and site staff were sent home.”
“Since then, we have worked out which staff members were able to work remotely and now have a skeleton team of office staff available to take enquiries via email and telephone on 01484 303 204, and are also encouragingly working on tenders, three of which came in last week! We are also regularly speaking with our clients to discuss reopening of sites and a safe return to work and have now amended our Health and Safety policy which covers ourselves and our subcontractors, to implement new safe working practices.”
